A Money Mixtape and Art of Money Registration Is Open!

written by Bari Tessler January 5, 2025

Hey friend,

Are you ready for something a little…different? Because holy moly do I have something different for you today.

First, though, here’s the larger context of what’s happening: The second round of my live, 3-month financial therapy program, The Art of Money, begins in just a week and a half on January 16th, which is when the first live class will happen.

Registration for this round of the program is open now, and will be open until the night of the first class.

Okay, so here’s the deal: we have a long-standing tradition around Art of Money headquarters where I love to share a handful of short money teachings to celebrate the opening of registration for the program.

We also love to do this because it gives you a little charcuterie board of small, bite-sized tools and practices you can use right away to start making your relationship with money healthier, savvier, and more empowered.

As a Gen X’er who grew up through my teen years in the 80’s, long before the internet, social media, iphones, and Spotify, I can clearly remember making mixtapes for my friends.

Back then, it was no easy feat to pull off, and putting together a collection of hand-picked songs and giving them to a friend on a cassette tape was a sign of affection.

It was a way to say, “I see you. I know who you are and what you love, and I care about you.”

So this year, my friend, I’m making a mixtape just for you.

Only, it’s not a collection of songs. It’s a collection of recordings that will take you on an emotional and psychological journey into many different facets of your relationship with money.

We’re calling it “Money Mixtape, Volume 1,” and I made it for you.

The first recording on this cassette is something you’ve never heard from me, and unless you’ve been following AI news, you may have never heard something like this before.

Now, before I tell you what this is, the second I mention the phrase “AI,” or “artificial intelligence,” I know that can raise some people’s hackles. There’s a lot of hate for anything AI related these days, and trust me, I get that.

My tech geek husband, Forest, has been down in all the AI rabbit holes for many months, so I’ve learned a bit about it all at the dinner table.

Here’s the bottom line: AI is just a tool, and like other tools, you can use it to make crap, or you can use it to help people. Hopefully, you’ll agree that this recording is in the helpful category.

My husband took an excerpt of a transcript of me teaching, fed it through a couple AI tools, and had the software create a podcast conversation between two people who are talking about the ideas I covered in the excerpt.

The first time I heard it I started laughing. It just sounds so incredibly human, and I couldn’t believe that this podcast conversation about my concept of “money stories” is not actually two people talking…it’s two AI bots.

Have a listen to this conversation where Jack and Julia (yes, I made those names up) are discussing my concept of money stories, how you can start to uncover your own stories, and how doing that can help you unlock a new way to relate with money.

This is the first “song” on my Money Mixtape for you.

May it help you on your money healing journey.

And if you know you’re ready to join the crew of folks who have already joined the next round of the 3-month Art of Money Live program that begins soon, hop right on over here and grab your seat on the train.

We’ll be in the boarding process for a handful of days here and then we’ll depart the station together soon for a journey that could change everything about everything in your money life.
