Hello from the desert... This trip was perfectly Hello from the desert...

This trip was perfectly timed. Last week, I finished my second Mentor Program with a wonderful cohort and our son finished his freshman year of high school.

So, we are here relaxing, celebrating and staring into the wide open spaces of sage + mountains and listening to bird song, ravens, coyotes and getting visits from jack rabbits.

I wanted to share a little heads up about my next business offerings coming this Summer and the Fall...

1: My next Mentor group for therapists, coaches and financial professionals is scheduled to begin on September 1st!

We will be opening early-bird registration in June so you can reserve a spot, plan ahead and get access to our early-bird gift.

This group program offers a safe + brave space to do your own money work which is so important for professionals. It will give you new somatic + practical money tools and practices to bring to your own clients. And, it supports you to create a healthier business or practice.

Early-bird registration details are going out very soon. You can check out the mentor program page and get on our waitlist: (link in profile)

2: We are moments away from introducing our Money Date Ritual Kits (gift boxes for yourself or a friend).

These kits will include wonderful accoutrements for your solo Money Dates and will help make the experience a lot more meaningful, creative and intentional.

We have been working on this for 6 months (the idea has been cooking for 7 years) and we finally have found all the perfect items to go inside.

My whole team is so excited to make these money date kits accessible to you and they will be perfect gifts!

3: You are always welcome to sign up for a private financial therapy session. I offer a one-time, deep-dive session and have 4-5 spots per month available for this.

If you would like some personal support from me + a safe space to talk about all things money and all that it connects too, you can read about the details here: (link in profile)

Ok, that's a wrap for now.

I'm so excited for all these next offerings over at the Art of Money headquarters.

With my dearest wishes,

Bari

Sunday dinner with my mom, husband and the teenage Sunday dinner with my mom, husband and the teenager. Sheet pan rosemary, paprika, lemon chicken with avocado, red onion, basil feta sauce on naan (recipe from @halfbakedharvest) + a berry galette (recipe from @smittenkitchen) -- and yes I make the galette dough from scratch! Next I'll learn how to make naan. My husband just walked in from a bike ride and stood there really taking in the whole scene with such appreciation -- it was really beautiful to feel🧡

I've been hiking on my favorite trail again a lot I've been hiking on my favorite trail again a lot lately. I absolutely love bringing Blue Bear with me. I've hiked these trails for almost 30 years and I've always been saying hello to all the other puppies. I once had a husky wait for me on the trail and then he hiked with me for a bit plus lots of kisses like we were long list companions. But now I have Blue who is old enough and trained enough to join me. I switch up my body movement all the time otherwise I'm bored and lately I'm craving nature and so excited to see the wildflowers coming up. Also it thundered and rained on us today while we jogged down the trail and that was amazing.

Why Somatic Tools are Essential to Money Work You Why Somatic Tools are Essential to Money Work

Your mind and body had a relationship with money long before you began your money work. Before you began to write your money story, they held it for you, narrating the money lessons and beliefs you’ve inherited and internalized from your family, culture, community, and your own lived experiences of survival, safety, stability, and enoughness.

Because your money story isn’t just an external expression of your current financial circumstances, it is life-long and ever-unfolding, alive in the thoughts and beliefs of your mind and the emotions and physical sensations of how your body responds in the moment.

You feel it in the shock of receiving an unexpectedly expensive tax bill, in the joyful sense of empowerment you feel when you finally pay off your student loan or your mortgage, and in the discomfort that sits at the table when the subject of money comes up with your sweetie.

From shame, anxiety, anger, fear, guilt, sadness, and the urge to fight, flee, or freeze to the expansiveness of hope, joy, excitement, confidence, and everything in between, learning to understand your money emotions is an essential life and money skill. It is how you uncover your money story, bring healing to the past, and begin to write a new chapter.

This learning journey can feel uncomfortable and overwhelming...

But by practicing being present in your body, you can learn to turn inward & bring awareness and compassion to these sensations and emotions.

This gift of self-regulation, the somatic term for feeling safe in your body no matter what, is one of the hidden treasures waiting to be uncovered in your money journey.

Growing up, I learned to self-regulate through dance. I also started therapy as a teenager.

My desire to combine these two modalities is why I went to graduate school to earn my Master’s in Somatic Psychology in 1998.

The hands-on, experiential, body-based training I received over those years of learning & personal growth was life-changing.

Today, I want to share 3 of my favorite body-based practices to support you through the ebbs and flows of life and money.

Big rest and acupuncture day over here. After I tr Big rest and acupuncture day over here. After I travel I try to remember to give myself a transition day. All 3 kitties keep checking in with me. And I'm reading this book, The Candy House. I've wanted to read this author, @jennifereganwriter for a while. Have you read her other books? I'm loving the storytelling and writing and one of the small characters has the name Bari, which I've never experienced in a book before. Reading is one of my happy places. #read #reading #whatimreading #booklover #fiction #novelsaremyfavorite #kittyfamily #thecandyhouse #jenniferegan
