Back to School Round Up! (+ what excites me!)

written by Bari Tessler August 28, 2013

My son started Kindergarten yesterday!  The back to school energy is palpable in my household, very tender and also exciting.

This time of year always feels like another New Year to me — a time to reassess, look forward, and tidy things up.

It feels like a good time to zoom out for a little Back to School Round Up from the blog!

Some of you have been following my blog for years, and many of you have just recently joined this community. Either way, I want to take a look back at some of my most favorite and useful articles so far this year. And, I want to share a bit about how I choose my topics.

There are a few main umbrella topics that really light me up, and that I love to write about here.

The first is, of course, your money relationship! Within our money relationship, I touch on emotional aspects, psychological aspects, practical aspects, and even spiritual topics. I weave in teachings and tools on personal finances, couple finances and entrepreneurial finances. And, I like to bring on guest experts in money topics I think will inspire and support you, and of course I add my own spin on it a bit. I believe our relationship with money touches everything in our lives, and I try to write and speak about it in a way that honors this truth.

The second umbrella topic is the realm of creative entrepreneurship & mamapreneurship. I know that some of you are business owners. Some of you are mamas.  And some of you are wanting to step into the big-beautiful-challenging world of both.  I hope that my writings support you to step fuller onto this exciting life path and to craft it in the best way for you and your family.

Finally, the third big piece I love to write about is my personal journey, and all the lessons I’m learning as a human being. I have found that one of the ways I can best serve my community is to simply join you in this crazy life journey and report on what I’m learning.

I decided a long time ago to write whatever is in my heart-mind, rather than limiting myself to topics directly relating to money. It’s all connected anyway! Most of my posts involve a bit from both camps (personal & professional), because they are so deeply connected for me.

Ok, onto the Round Up!

Here are the top 10 posts of 2013, so far:

  1. How to find ENOUGHNESS . . . when you don’t feel it.

  2. Whoa. I interviewed a Student Loan Expert.

  3. How my food cleanse inspired a money cleanse for my students.

  4. What to do if a money date with your honey sounds HORRIFYING.

  5. Failure or Lesson? In your money house . . .

  6. Your Money Healing Ritual.

  7. Tax Day Reflections.

  8. Do You Know your own value?

  9. I knew this day would come as a Mommypreneur.

  10. A Tribute to my first Money Mentor, Tamara Slayton.

I hope you enjoy these articles, and that they serve you in the best way.

Some immensely wonderful things are right around the corner!  We’ve already tipped our hat to the Money Memoir Series, starting October 1: a free, month-long gathering for intimate truth-telling about money, one tender story at a time.  Some of my favorite people will share their personal challenges, triumphs, and ah-ahs about money — and I hope you’ll be there, too.

Then, in keeping with the gentle, deeply nurturing feel of Money Memoirs, we’ll be opening up an extended enrollment period for the Art of Money 2014, throughout the Fall Season.  No scarcity.  No rushing.  Instead: a luxuriously supported, profoundly empowered decision process for those considering opening their hearts to the Art of Money 2014.  Informed by the Money Memoir Series and oodles of content, sneak peeks, and love.

We hope you will join us in creating a healing, productive, and beautiful back-to-school season.
