Financial Health: The Next Frontier for Women.
That was our theme when I hit the stage a few days ago, speaking to a packed house of 3,000 people live in NYC at the Lincoln Center. Whoa!!
Folks, this was the biggest crowd I’d ever spoken to. And it was one of the biggest thrills of my professional life yet. (Thank you, more please!)
The event was the 10th annual Women in the World Summit. And I got to share the stage with Tayari Jones (an author featured in Oprah’s book club), Paula Polito (Global Client Strategy Officer for UBS Financial Services), and moderator Bianna Golodryga (journalist and CNN contributor).
I’m so excited to share the video with you today!
Watch our wonderful 30-minute panel on women, money, and emotions below
You’ll hear us talk about:
- Why financial literacy and emotional literacy go hand in hand.
- Women’s complicated relationship with money.
- The huge disconnect between women’s financial priorities and where they actually focus their energy.
- The fraught relationship women have with financial self-sufficiency.
- Couples and money: stages of money work and why spreadsheets aren’t the best place to start.
This was a huge leap for me! I’m incredibly honored and grateful.
I’ve comfortably spoken to crowds of 100 people for awhile — but speaking at the Lincoln Center to a packed crowd of 3,000 (plus livestream) was a huge leap! I was nervous and excited … but it was amazing, and I am SO ready to do more of this!
You can watch the entire Women in the World event on their website, here.
Folks, it was so powerful! There were keynotes, panels, and interviews with Oprah, Stacey Abrams (a highlight for me), Jill Soloway, Priyanka Chopra, Zainab Salbi, Brie Larson, and many more.
The entire Women in the World Summit was an incredible experience, personally and professionally.
From the presentations to after-hours rooftop conversations, I loved sharing money and life wisdom with so many wonderful women — many of whom were fascinated by my Financial Therapy work.
I love my quiet home and family life in Boulder, but I’m so grateful when I get to travel and meet such good humans!
I’m happily home doing my daily hikes and spending time with my boys and kitties. But I hope to share more events like this with you in the future!
Thank you for all the love and support.
With dear wishes,
